Did you know that many Veterans suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS)?
Left untreated, PTS can be crippling, placing veterans at great risk for violent and self-destructive behavior. This can include alcoholism or drug abuse, severe depression, anxiety or emotional numbness, family and employment problems, and suicide. Each year, more than 6,500 veterans die by suicide.
Kula for Karma’s Therapeutic Yoga program for Veterans builds resilience while helping to heal the internal wounds of war. In an evidence-based approach, Kula for Karma offers therapeutic yoga to relieve depression, build greater resilience to stress, decrease cortisol levels and blood pressure, and improve sleep and overall quality of life.

"It is with much gratitude that I teach a Yoga for Veterans class for Kula for Karma, in partnership with Team RWB, at the Ridgewood YMCA. Leading a practice that moves with intention, breath, acceptance, and a little bit of humor, is my way to express thanks for all of those who have sacrificed so much for all of us."
