Nancy Manket, MBA
200-RYT. Certified Nutritionist Founder, Beacon Wellness Center
Nancy Manket, a health and fitness enthusiast, was first drawn to yoga several years ago to rehab from a serious skiing accident. Not only did yoga rebuild her strength, flexibility, and balance, but it also created a calm and joyfulness she had never experienced before. To share her new passion with others and complement her health coaching practice, Nancy obtained her 300-hour teacher training certification, and advanced trainings in yoga therapeutics. It was at her initial certification program that she first learned of Kula for Karma and the amazing number of people with mental and physical challenges that the organization was helping to heal.
“There is no better feeling than doing something you love and making a difference in people’s lives. I have done that my whole career, as a corporate financial executive, a health coach and now as a yoga instructor. Becoming a part of Kula has brought such fulfillment to me and I am so inspired by the students I teach.”
In addition to being an investment banker and a yoga instructor at several studios, Nancy has been working with patients and survivors at the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hackensack hospital for over a year and a half. She has chosen to work with cancer patients in memory of her parents, who she lost way too young to cancer. Since she started at the JTCC, she has seen first hand how yoga and meditation have improved the lives of those living cancer.
Nancy’s support of and commitment to Kula continues to grow. This past autumn, she held several "friend-raisers" in her home studio to increase awareness and bring more Kula programs to her community in central NJ. In addition, she will be one of the inaugural instructors at St. Barnabas Hospital, when the new programs kick off this month. Most recently, Nancy became a member of the Kula’s Board of Directors where she will share both her business and yoga experiences.
