Charlotte Chandler Stone is the founder of the Stone Center for Yoga & Health.
She is widely known for the therapeutic application of yoga and Ayurveda, and for working closely with the allopathic community. She started the Gentle Yoga for Cancer classes at Gilda’s Club of NNJ, and teaches Gentle Yoga for Cancer as part of her Advanced Yoga Teacher Training program. Her work has been featured in print, on TV, in the documentary Diagnosis: Cancer, moderated by Sara Lee Kessler, and online. In addition to certifications in Structural Yoga Therapy, Cardiac Yoga, Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy, and Transformation Meditation, she is a Certified Specialist in Exercise for Osteoporosis, and has studied Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Spiritual, informative, experiential and empowering,
Charlotte’s trainings meld the wisdom of yoga and Ayurveda with contemporary findings, providing teachers with the tools to make yoga safe, sensible, useful, and life-affirming. Charlotte dedicates her work to her aunt Miriam, who – for decades after a double mastectomy – visited patients and taught hundreds of women that regardless of what happens to our bodies, we are always whole, perfect and beautiful.
