Our volunteer of the month is Nancy Fader! Nancy volunteers with Kula at the North Jersey Brain and Spine Center. We are so grateful for her incredible work!
Nancy Fader first started to practice Yoga through Thai Massage -- she has been a Thai Massage Bodyworker since 2010. Nancy did her 200-HR Yoga Teacher Training at the Stone Center For Yoga and Health under the tutelage of Charlotte Stone, and graduated in 2013. She was exposed to chair assisted Yoga within her teacher training, and became a passionate and enthusiastic teacher of this version of Yoga that offers accessibility to a broad range of students. Nancy has trained to teach Yoga to cardiac patients, cancer patients, spinal surgery patients, and those with movement disorders, all through the advanced trainings offered by Kula for Karma; she has also trained to teach Yin Yoga.
It is through the Kula for Karma advanced training courses that Nancy became a volunteer, teaching chair assisted Yoga for Parkinson's patients at North Jersey Brain and Spine in Oradell. Nancy also teaches a general chair assisted Yoga class, a mat class for students with past spinal surgeries, and a private cerebral palsy chair assisted session.
