Our volunteer of the month for October is Terry Cotter!
Here's a little bit about him and his incredible work to bring yoga to those who need it most:
Yoga has been a part of Terry’s life for the past seven years, and his practice has helped him grow in many ways. He’s an avid cyclist and turned to yoga to help him with tight hamstrings and stiffness that often results from hours on the bike. What he found was help with his breath, strength and flexibility but also that yoga inspired him both on and off the mat.
In 2013, Terry decided to pursue teacher training at Shree Yoga in Saddle River, NJ, where he began my practice and obtained RYT 200 with Anusara Elements. Upon completion, Terry reached out to Kula looking opportunities to gain teaching experience as a volunteer. Since then, Terry has taught classes to Adults with Special needs, Cancer Survivors, Cardiac Patients and he currently teaches a weekly class to Patients recovering from Spinal conditions.
Here's what he has to say about his practice:
“In my classes, I combine creative sequencing, playfulness and strive to inspire students so that they not only step off the mat feeling refreshed and balanced, but empowered with knowledge and the ability to safely practice at home.”
